McFaddin-Ward House to host scavenger hunt

Beaumont, TX; October 20, 2020 - The McFaddin-Ward House (MWH) will host a community-wide scavenger hunt, Our House is Your House: Key Hunt, November 9-13 with prizes given to the winners.

10 brass skeleton keys will be hidden throughout community locations in Beaumont. Clues will be posted on social media on Monday, November 9. Each of the 10 key finders will receive an approximately $50 value prize when the discovered key is presented at the MWH and he/she will be entered into the grand prize drawing for an approximately $550 value prize.

“Here at the McFaddin-Ward House, our house is always your house,” Bel Morian, MWH’s interim director, said. “As we approach a time of thanksgiving, the MWH wishes to give back and create a little fun by sharing some of our wonderful local offerings. We hope the community will channel their inner Sherlock Holmes and come find some keys to great prizes!”

Contest entrants are asked to be respectful of property. No digging or rearranging of objects is required to find the keys. Once a key is found, it should be brought to the McFaddin-Ward Administration Building at 725 Third Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701 for prize retrieval. Keys can be returned to the MWH November 9-13 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The contest will end on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m.

The grand prize winner will be announced on November 14 at 11 a.m. from a random drawing.

To participate in the contest, entrants must like the MWH social media channels. Participants must be willing to have their photo posted on social media.

Only one key prize per family may be redeemed. Neither employees nor volunteers affiliated with the community partner may hunt for a key on the entity where they are employed or volunteer. However, they may hunt at other entities where they are not involved as an employee or volunteer. No substitutions for any prizes will be made.
